Crayon carvings

What do you think of these newest carvings by the uber talented Diem Chau? If you have noticed, those are the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs. Such work requires so much patience and talent that I could never imagine myself having! So which sign are you? I'm a tiger!

Check out the close ups here.

P.S. I don't have access to blogger in my office computer anymore that's why I haven't been regularly checking up on your blogs, which I usually do during lunch time. I'm looking forward to reading your blogs during the short break!

Flexitarian Cookbook

I came across the Flexitarian Cookbook while browsing the web last night and I thought I'd share with you lovelies. The cookbook is a compilation of flexible recipes for both vegetarians and carnivores and there are no print copies yet. They are currently raising print funds, with all proceeds going to charity. Check out the video:

500 worst passwords

I dunno if you've seen this photo before, but my friend just sent me this collection of the worst passwords. She says three of hers are included in the list and that she is now changing them! Haha. Any of yours in here?

P.S. There was a 6.6m earthquake yesterday here in the city. Felt it from the 25th floor of the building, but only mildly so there wasn't even any alarm raised.

Cut & Paste

This stunning collection is a collaboration between Kiki Van Eijk and Secondome director Claudia Pignatale. It is inspired by "an imaginary world where everything is mixed, combined and questioned." I love it and I think that all the pieces, though very diverse, really came together; and that first photo just about captured it. What do you think ladies?

Clock jar

What a pretty piece of work! This clock jar by designer Oren Hetzroni is inspired by his childhood memories of capturing insects in a jar. Don't we all have those memories?

I'm not sure how it works though; I think it's just for display. I like the one with the red/white tablecloth, because it just feels so homey. What do you think?

Oh happy day!

As promised, here is a post about the things I did on my birthday, including a few of the gifts I received. And in this post are some details about me and my life. I hope I don't bore you!

Thursday, March 18, I was at work for nine hours, looking forward to spending a birthday eve dinner with Jay. We ate at this very cozy place called Terrace at the 5th:

He got me this pre-birthday gift, a Samsung Omnia (which is now full of appointments), last week to replace my lost phone:

Friday, March 19 (my b-day), I was already in the office at 6:20 in the morning. I have to be on the field to visit some suburban property sites. Left at 7:00 am, got back in the office at 6:30 pm. Just so you wouldn't wonder, I am with the Corporate Marketing department of a real estate firm. I wish to buy a property from one of our firm's developments as an investment in the near future. Here are some shots that I believe I am allowed to share (sorry, no photos of my planned outfit!):

That night, though super tired, I enjoyed a nice dinner with my family at this Greek place called Cyma. Oops, didn't get to take photos with family. But my little sis captured this tired-but-happy pic of me:

My yummy lemon cake that was gone in the blink of my eye:

A cute homemade card from my funny little sister:

The cover

The inside: that pop-up monkey is hanging on a nylon line. She was like "get it?" haha! I think she was trying to tell me that this would be the last homemade card I'm gonna get, next will be e-cards! Aw, I love her homemade cards...

A Starbucks tumbler that I so need when I'm on the go. It's hard holding on to that Starbucks cup and avoiding spills when I'm moving, so I'll just have my barista put my coffee here. And a teeny silk shorts (so shiny!):

My birthday celebration wasn't at all fancy, but I really enjoyed it and I am so thankful for the people who made it possible. I would also like to thank you my lovely readers for sharing this day with me and for all the greetings! You all are the sweetest! Here's to more happy years!

(Almost all photos were taken using my new Omnia phone)

Winners!

I want to thank everyone who participated in my first ever blog giveaway! Winners should have been posted yesterday (though it's still Friday in your areas :), but it was such a busy day; I was on the go the whole time. Plus I did a manual draw! Will tell you all about stuff I did on my birthday in my next post! And yes, that is me in the photo. I'm finally posting a photo of myself in my blog just so you know what the quirky gal you're dealing with looks like. I think I look friendly enough? Haha. Anyway, here are the winners!

For the Spring giveaway, let's give it up to my fellow kooky girl:

As for the Summer giveaway, I would like to congratulate:

To those who didn't win, I promise I'll have more pretty giveaways in the future. I hope you keep reading Andy Quirks!

Have a very happy weekend!

much love,
Andy

P.S. Winner Chelsea is having her own giveaway as well, and there are so many cute stuff up for grabs! Check it out!

Tomorrow's look

You must already know that tomorrow, aside from being the announcement day of the spring/summer giveaway winners, is my birthday. And since Summer has already started here (plus it's dress-down Friday in the office), I just want to look relaxed and chic at the same time on my special day. And these two looks got my fancy when I saw it at Strawberry Beard just about ten minutes ago. It's from the Built by Wendy 2010 Spring Collection. I really love it and I wish I could find similar pieces in my closet to pull it off. Now, which look will I go with?

Geek necklace

I am loving this necklace I found over at Makers Market. It is inspired by the Resveratrol molecule that is believed to make red wine healthy. And that dangling garnet also looks like a drop of red wine. What do you think ladies? Will you wear this little geeky number? I definitely will!

No such thing as rubbish

This new campaign by Surfrider Foundation Europe is so far from being rubbish. You know I love seeing great advertisements and I think the idea here is very simple, but everything came out amazing. And the photos are superb! I really hope this gets people to do their part in keeping the ocean clean.

P.S. Nothing to do with the post, but I just have to share. I recently lost my phone in the cinema (stupid me!) and being the usual sweet boyfriend, Jay just got me a pre-birthday gift--a new Samsung Omnia phone! Oh Jay, thanks so much!

What a darling!

I don't wear flats much cos I'm quite petite, so I love adding a little height through day after day of heels and platforms. But lately, I've been quite obsessed with moccasins. I recently bought two pairs and I love 'em! So comfy and perky! So when I came across Darlingtonia Moccasin Company , I was totally smitten! They have the cutest handmade pairs ever! Love!

Also, the company is having a little giveaway I have yet to enter, better check it out now!

Bookshelf mess

Found this bookshelf over at Styl.In. I know that instead of making your room look organized, it'll make it seem messy. But I just find it so adorable nonetheless!

P.S. Yay for the 100 followers! Thanks so much everyone! It's giveaway time then! Check it out Friday!

A hearty Monday!

These limited edition cans are designed by Tom Gauld to raise awareness of The Heart Truth, a women's heart health program. Aren't they cute? Plus the following video is one of a series of animations for the campaign. Check it out and tell me what you think!

I'm off to have breakfast now, while keeping track of the Oscars online. I'm sure you're all glued! Have a lovely Monday!
