Happy new year everyone! Been a really busy holiday, but I am totally not complaining. I actually don't want it to end just yet. I so love vacation mode. Anyway, I think I hear someone calling my name for some errands, gotta split! See you in 2010! (Photo by Elisabeth Dunker)
Merry Christmas everyone!!! Haven't been able to update my blog since the week came in. Like you, I've been quite busy preparing for the Holidays. But I cant miss greeting everyone during THE day, so here I am. Enjoy the happy, happy day!!!
Hey everyone! What are you up to this weekend? Mind you, it's the last one before Christmas so make the most of it! As for me, I will just be resting at home. Had a very busy week this week organizing our company's Christmas party; and it's not over yet. So I'll just rest and probably do a little gift shopping on Sunday for dear boyfriend Jay. Enjoy your weekend! (Photo via Akanekinomoto)
I just saw the trailer of Robin Hood from YouTube and it really got my heart pumping. I have watched Gladiator countless times and I am really excited to see Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott work together on an epic again. I've always loved Robin Hood (laughed at Kevin Costner's version, watched the cartoon series and endless stage plays) but I haven't seen a production in a more serious tone, discussing the real story behind the legend. So even if it won't be released til May 2010, I am already starting to count the days! Meanwhile, here's another look at the trailer:
Oh, and I can't see any green tights around. That's a good thing, right?
This a bit of a turn from all the Christmas posts, but upon seeing it from World of Wonder, I flipped and I just had to post it here! It's a patch to cover your pet's "unmanicured backside". The product is from Rear Gear and it comes in various designs such as disco balls, smiley faces and cupcakes. See the Holiday edition below:
Lovely vintage finds (Christmas gifts!!!) from Cure Thrift Shop:
Kurt Adler 1957 paper mache that opens up for sweets!
Let the cash flow in this gorge register
Timeless station clock replica
The store dubbed it "Ernie in Thought"
I love it that such amazing items can be found in just one NY store. Finding these in the local scene would be such a tough job. But I think I have the willpower to do some serious hunting. Now all I need is enough time.
Just two weekends left before Christmas! Are you panicking already? I hate it when we get all worried and worked out about our preparations for Christmas that we don't get to actually enjoy the season. So this weekend, I'm gonna do some quick shopping and then I'd spend the rest of it with my family. Just relax and get excited for the Holidays. How about you? What are you up to this weekend? Enjoy!!!
I love looking at these pair of vintage Colorwerks Christmas gym shoes, because it matches one of my Holiday sweaters!
Can you imagine yourself pulling out one of these every Christmas? Just for walking around the house. If yes, well I think this one has been sold already, but the seller has two other designs that you can check out!
After all these years of Christmas fruitcake-giving, I haven't found the perfect one for my taste. It's either too bland or quite overwhelming. I've never tried baking one (and I still wont this year), but I might just ask my sister to try this recipe. She's been looking for the perfect recipe all over the web these past few days.
My sister Jacky bought this oh so cute animal ballpen/keychain over at Market! Market! for our little sister and I loved it it as much as she (li'l sis) did! It's an animal key chain with a detachable head that doubles as a pen! Now, that's a nice Christmas giveaway for little kids.
I found this cute (and uber cheap!) pair of Blair Waldorf-type headband at Market! Market! department store over the weekend. I've been studying it and I think I could make one myself. Hmm, I just need the right fabric, some good amount of time and a pitcher of patience over my skills. Then maybe I could give it out as Christmas gifts! With less than 20 days before Christmas, I really do wish I could squeeze this little project in my schedule, cos nothing beats the thoughtfulness of hand-made presents!
Are you feeling the Holiday season? I know I am! This weekend, I will be out shopping. We're going into the second week of December and I still have a long unchecked list! Will let you know if I find awesome bazaars. How about you, ladies? What are you up to this weekend? I have a feeling it'll be similar to mine. Have fun!!!
I am in love with this vintage cocoa felt tilt hat adorned with feathers and a veil. It just looks so old and romantic, don't you think? Well, I cant use this today unless I'm in a 1940's themed wedding or play or party, but it would just look oh so lovely in my closet!
Speaking of films and royal life. Let's go to a more modern and colorful one! I've been waiting and waiting to see Disney's newest fairy tale "The Princess and the Frog!" I loved the trailers and the movie stills look awesome. And there's been a lot of good reviews too.
Lovely, isn't it? Sorry the photos are a bit of a spoiler, but I think we girls all know what will happen: "They will live happily ever after."
Are you as excited as I am? Will you be hitting the theaters when it starts showing on December 11?
I have recently seen the Grace Kelly (gorgeous!) classic "The Swan" over at MGM cable channel and I have been swooning over it since. Oh, the royal life--what a nice fantasy.
Have you seen the movie? Do you like watching black & white romantic flicks?
Madame Butterfly, one of the most amazing stores in the world, is selling its exclusive collection of unique and vintage clothing. The store, which is about 3,000 square feet of clothing and accessories, is owned by the lovely Patricia O' Donnell, a 65-year old thrift addict and fashion enthusiast. Words cannot describe her collection and I believe even her feelings over having to part with a lifetime's worth of beautiful finds. Check some of them out:
Ms. O' Donell notes, "I get such enjoyment helping people play "dress-up". Again, real life has jumped up and bit me and I am losing my home & the store if I don't part with my collection... This has been a labor of love for me, and only a true vintage clothing collector could understand that."
"I am trying to appeal to someone or even an existing business that wants to expand their inventory. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone that has ever wanted to own an authentic vintage clothing collection or open their own boutique," she added.
Aww, this is so calling out for me!!! If I'm not so poor at the moment, I would definitely buy everything from her. But alas, I am. Check out the story here and view more of the collection here.
December is here everyone! And so I want to start the month by saying, I so want one of those bicycles with a front basket for Christmas (yes, I'm talking to you Jay!)
